Ash is a handsome 19 month old entire male blue short coat German Shepherd dog. He is good around other dogs and with cats. He is very experienced around children but we would only re-home around older children aged 5 years plus. He came into rescue due to the ill health of his owner. He is finding kennel life tough and we are keen to see him in a nice home as soon as possible. He is a little underweight so we are gently feeding him up and trying to reduce his anxiety.
He knows most basic commands but can be strong on the lead and is much better on a halti type head collar. He likes to give his paw. He is house-trained and travels well. He is not food aggressive or protective and will take treats nicely and gently. We would recommend further training as we do with all our dogs as this is especially helpful to aid with bonding. He is an intelligent boy and picks things up quickly enough so he will enjoy and get lots out of classes. He is a super friendly lad and likes to be close to you, leaning in on your legs for a stroke and fuss. He enjoys any affection that you will give him.
Ash will be micro-chipped, vaccinated and flea and worm treated.
We cannot understand why he has not yet found a home. He doesn’t need a particularly specialist home, so if you are looking for a great dog used to all the goings on in a family home environment, you couldn’t go too far wrong with our Amazing Ash!
