Brin’s world: “I need a home for just me, no other pets, it’s not that I am not friendly, I am, (very) but I have been overlooked and left out in the cold compared with the other two dogs. It’s just not fair and it makes me sad and anxious. I have eyes only for my master, he has eyes for only them. I need to be the centre of someone’s world.”

Yes, Brin is a 3 year old neutered male of excellent temperament. He is thin and wiry in appearance with plenty of energy, the ‘ranger’ type. It is felt that although he will need a fairly active person, he will need that one on one care and attention to detail. He knows the commands and is obedient but a little anxious for the next thing to happen, and probably tries too hard to impress. He can be a bit of a whinger at times and impatient, such as when the meal is being prepared. Out in the open field he goes quite far but always returns. He has the desire to chase and hunt out all the rabbits etc and like his ‘me’ time. He needs a person with experience of German Shepherds to understand him. As has been said, he has been overshadowed by his stable mates and this has not suited him. And so he needs the influence of a calm gentle person with patience to allow him to relax and not have to prove something, says our behaviourist.
However, Brin has led an outdoor life as he was bought as a guard dog and kept out. During the day he was in and out of the house with the others. He would however be very happy to be indoors at night too. He would benefit from some extra training eg to learn to search for something (ball perhaps) would be ideal. He is very responsive. So if there is a German Shepherd owner out there, currently with no German Shepherd, this may be The Dog. Brin is accustomed to, and good with other dogs and children from birth up. Will chase cats. Meet Brin in Essex by calling ANIMALACTIONTRUST ESSEX
