Toddy is a 7 year old male German Shepherd Dog. Toddy is a male tall German Shepherd. This lad is wonderful and has had quite a bit of training, very responsive he is a friendly boy with a great nature. Update from Toddy’s foster mum: What an amazing boy this is! He is a brilliant example of a handsome German Shepherd, loyal, obedient, intelligent, a gentle giant. He arrived at the Rescue in very poor shape, seriously underweight and expressing no interest in food. He looked like a 12 year old. We were worried about his future, was he pining for his owner? Could we interest him in food, in wanting to get better?
Thankfully, after a week of uncertainty, he started to eat again and he has steadily put on weight. He recovered his personality; the boy was back! He has clearly been trained; he comes to a call, he will sit, offer his paw, stay and walk to heel. He is clean in the home and seems very comfortable to spend time on his own, without complaint. He would suit an experienced German Shepherd Dog owner who appreciates the traits of this breed. His loyalty makes him a great ‘only dog’. He is brilliant with people, friendly and loves fuss.
We think he may be good with female dogs but maybe not so comfortable to share his space with another male. If he is to be rehomed with others it will probably depend upon the mix of animals already in the home and how he is introduced to them.
