Does your dog love car rides? Do you like taking your furry pal wherever you go?
Did you know…
Most German Shepherds and dogs in general love to ride in cars. While it is fun to to take them along wherever you go, you need to be aware of these safety measures first.
Safety should always be your priority. It is recommended to get a dog safety seat as it will be safer and more comfortable for your dog in case you stop the car suddenly. It’s also a great idea to crate or harness your dog as you’ll be less distracted while driving, which is ultimately safer for the both of you.
While it is cute, you must not allow you dog to stick his head out the window of a moving vehicle. At high speeds, some debris can cause injuries to your pal’s eyes, nose, and ears.
Ensure to bring appropriate supplies for your dog, particularly if it’s going to be a long trip. Bring enough fresh water, treats, his favorite chew toys, and plastic bags for waste. remember that dogs can get heat stroke in a parked car. So DO NOT leave your dog unattended in your car.
You must also make a stop atleast every hour or so to allow you furry companion to use the toilet, or to drink some water. As you take him on short walks to stretch his legs and use the toilet, he must be at ALL TIMES be on a leash for his own well-being.
